{ Spring Bedroom }

Posted by Head Fly at 5:23 AM 0 comments
I love adding a little of color around my client's house's for Spring.
I've made some changes to our own bedroom this season too.
I found this charming little dresser at an auction.
My original intentions were to paint it, but I think I like it just the way it is for now.

Danny has a small table on his side of the bed, with a crate underneath to contain his pile of junk.

I added some colorful pillows and a quilt with some red in it for some more pop.

Since I found this dresser, I was able to use the old night table as a vanity on the other side of the bedroom.

{ Adding Color }

Posted by Head Fly at 12:40 PM 0 comments

And now.. I crave more color.  I don't know if it's because of the long
gloomy days of winter, or just want to add a little spice.

The pillows were taken from the play room sofa. 'Cause they were a little sick of being thrown on the floor.
They're much happier here.

I made the sign after searching "signs" on pinterest for ideas. Pennasault is a lake in Canada were my husband used to go in the summer with his family.
If any of my Canadians friends now of it or of a summer camp that used to be there, we'd love to hear any info you might know about it.

One of my favorite songs.
I've always loved this signed made by The Handmade Home.
I even included it when I created a design board for my girls room.

{ A swing for the girl's room }

Posted by Head Fly at 10:55 AM 0 comments
Still haven't "completed" the girl's room.
But, little by little things are getting done.
Here's the latest additions...
A reading swing, complete with it's own library.

The louvered door was found on the side of the road.
I painted it, added chalkboard paint to the bottom, and use it to hold the girl's books.

p.s. I love the color of the door.
I don't even want to hang the shoe rack back up!

See the switch plate cover?
I LOVE these.
They are about 67 cents in the hardware stores.
When my contractor saw them, he insisted they were for electrical boxes only (as if they can go nowhere else).
I love the industrial farmhouse look they give a room.

I also got around to hanging the chevron curtain panels that have been lying around Camille & Lucy's room for about 2 weeks now. Sorry girls.
I love the color and they match the euro pillows on the bed.

Okay, so I'll get around to giving you a full tour of my newest favorite room soon, promise.

{ Sneak Peak Fabrics }

Posted by Head Fly at 4:12 PM 0 comments
Did you know I'll be designing a room at the Philadelphia Home Show?
I am.
I'll be one of 4 designers featured at the show.  I've designer a room for Comcast SportsNet's Gregg Murphy.
The room is a combination of Guest Room/Home Office.
I'll be giving sneak peaks all week, but I'd love for you to come see the room in person. There are so many nooks and crannys in the room I know you'll love.
If you come to the show, please grab me and introduce yourself.  I'd love to meet you.

Here's a little sneaky peaky at what you'll find in my room.

I'm in love with these fabrics.  Makes you want to do your room all over again!
Thanks to Robert Allen Fabrics for sponsoring this portion of my room.
I was like a kid in a candy store when I got the chance to pick out all the fabric and bedding I wanted for this room.
They also lent me a great nubby braided fabric chair and ottoman that reminds me of an Irish sweater.

I used this great chocolate plaid for some Euro pillows.

And, this golden geometric for one side of the duvet and some throw pillows.

The brown pattern was used in the duvet also and a small pillow for the chair.

The hounds-tooth is one of my favs.

I hope to see you at the show!  Click the link on my side bar for discounted tickets.
See you there!

Posted by Head Fly at 12:46 PM 0 comments
Whew, today went great with the local tv station.
I managed to finish the girls room enough so it could pass for "finished" on tv.
But, I still have lot's of bits and pieces left to do.
Here's a sneak peak...with all the bits and pieces hangin' out.

{ Little Girl Rooms }

Posted by Head Fly at 9:05 AM 0 comments
The race is on.
I recently found out that a local tv channel will be here next
Tuesday to film our home for an upcoming show. (more on that later)
So, the race is on.  I'd love to feature Camille & Lucy's bedroom, but it is nowhere near complete!
Do you think I can pull it off in the next 4 days?
Good grief, I hope so.
Here's a sneak peak at what it will look like when it's finished.

{ Decorating for a Teen Boy }

Posted by Head Fly at 9:18 AM 0 comments
It's a slippery slope.
Too much is just that...too much.
You teeter on the ledge of little boy and man.
So, I was very happy to see this room for a 13 year old boy coming together so nicely.

It's not my usual vintage style room.
It's A LOT more modern. Which I think fits this boy well.
Here's the inspiration for the room...

Louis
There's still much more that needs to be done, Euro pillows, blinds, comfy chair, mirror, floor lamp...
And, I'm sure I'll have to throw some chippy paint and rust in there somewhere!
But for now, it's lookin' good.
I especially love the upholstered wing-back bed frame and sconces.

Not too shabby from where it all began...
