I promised Camille a new dresser in her room. (which you can see here)
She was dying for purple.
I was not.
Well, thank you Annie Sloan chalk paint, 'cause I found the perfect shade by mixing Duck Egg Blue with Scandinavian Pink and a dash of Old Violet.
Now we're both happy. It's the perfect shade of lavender.
I keep the handles exactly how I found them. Some weird mint green color.
(And I have no before, because, if you follow this page you know I'm a spaz and have no time for "before" photos. Most of the time.)
The photo block is from my friend, and artist Michelle Ciarlo-Hayes, I LOVE it and so do my girls.
Her knick knacks and hair accessories are kept in a two tiered cake plate thingy I made with a green depression glass candle stick and mini cake pans.
If she actually keeps her clothes in it, I'll remain happy.

{ How to Bring in the Color }
My bedroom was looking a little weak to me.
then I saw this..
Katie, from Clarendon Lane painted her
pantry door this color, and I loved it.

{Operation * Shipping * Palette - Part * ONE}
I'm on it...
(the bandwagon, that is)
goodbye burlap, chalkboard, vintage paper projects.
Hello Shipping Palette
Formerly the dregs of society,
sitting on the side of the road,begging for you to take them.
Holding their pathetic
F R E E signs.
They have risen in the ranks and are now being sought out
and adopted by insane DIYers like you and me.
Welcome!
So, join me as I take on my latest obsession -
the wooden shipping palette
Project #1
a few chops of the chop saw later...

{ Blueberry Ice }
Fresh picked chilled strawberries
and frozen blueberries
The perfect spot for a
mid-morning snack
on a hot day
I found this dresser along
the side of the road last year.
And finally got around to adding some shelves to it.
While the final touches were being put on my kitchen,
my nephew cut some wood shelves for the spot where the drawers were.
{ *tip* the original drawers were warped and damaged,
so I left them where I found then and took only the base}
It's perfectly yellow, and perfectly chippy.
To freeze your blueberries, lay them in a
single layer on cookie sheet 'til frozen.
{that way they won't stick together}

{ Out With The Old . . . }
before I post this on craigslist,
I thought I'd share it with you here...
This little lady is up for sale.
you may remember her from such places as
here -
where she made a brief appearance after
her stint in my son's nursery
in our old house.
she's a versatile gal, with lots to offer.
She's just as beautiful on the outside as she is on the inside
Her interior doors are decoupaged with vintage book pages.
She will serve you as a spot to hang your clothes, or a place for your TV.
Her front is decoupaged with vintage paper shells.
{easily painted over, if that's not your thing}
Currently she's sporting an exterior paint job of
Ivory Tusk, by Ben Moore.
So, if you live in the Philadelphia, PA area
and would like to take her home,
give me a shout.
PaintedHome@gmail.com
I'm asking $200. for her.
Her dimensions are -
6.5' tall
3.5"wide
2' deep

{ Spring Room Arrangement }
sort of...
I had a girlfriend come over and help me move some furniture around
*{thanks Jen}*
I had this sweet little Armoire since Camille was a baby,
but I didn't know what to do with it anymore.
It definitely needs a fresh coat of paint.
It was up in the
{Mom Cave}
but there was no purpose for it there,
and it was just taking up room.
{valuable "mom" room}
My sister-in-law suggested I put it in my bedroom for Danny's clothes
so, I've been pushing it around my bedroom all morning
over here...
so, then I had to move the blanket chest somewhere
over there...
over the the other side...
too much on one side?
what do you think?
I love this free decorating, and I seem to do it pretty often.
It freshens up the space and makes you think outside of the box.
do you rearrange your furniture every couple of months?
